I have a love-hate relationship with it - on one end, I don't want to be an unintellectual pothead, but on the other end, I get a craving to feel really fucked up and alone, the better to write music.

Common misconception. Everyone thinks smoking pot or doing drugs makes you stupid. It's generally the attitude associated with the whole drug genre that causes the stupidity. Dr. Sigmund Freud was a cocaine addict and Dr. Timothy Leary invented LSD. God invented marijuana and the coca plant. I'd hardly call either of the 3 "unintellectual".

I don't advocate the use of illegal drugs, but don't stereotype all drug users into the same category, either. I've smoked pounds of pot and did quite a few other "recreational pharmaceuticals" in my life.

a while back i was doin all this readin on marijuana... i remember stuff like native americans used to use it so immigrants who are now "americans" deemed it a bad drug and it carried the negative all the way to the present, but at the same time if u get a government job, its the only drug that you are allowed to have taken/used in the past...
